Where is the donkey farm located?
The donkey farm is located above Šmrika, a small seaside town near Crikvenica, Rijeka and the island of Krk.
We are only 15 minutes from Crikvenica, 20 minutes from Rijeka and Njivice, 30 minutes from Opatija and Novi Vinodolski. Even if you spend your vacation in Istria, Senj or the more distant places on the island of Krk, our donkey farm is a great destination for your family!
There are other attractions in the area, such as beautiful viewpoints and the castles of Hreljin and Nova Kraljevica. You can visit them after the farm visit and continue your adventure!

What to do at the farm?
Our young farmers Marko and Mihael will guide you through the farm and introduce you to all the residents: donkeys, goldfish, chickens and Croatian shepherd dogs. The children will meet pets that are rarely seen anywhere else today
If time and weather conditions permit, we will go on a guided walk to a small beautiful meadow not far from the farm, where you will see two very old water reservoirs. There we will tell you the story of this natural attraction.

Both adults and children can help with the daily tasks around the donkeys:
- Feed hay, carrots and apples
- grooming and styling

Children can also enjoy other activities that are great fun:

- Coming from Rijeka / Krk on the expressway, take the Križišće exit.
- At the roundabout, continue to the Križišće exit
- Crossroads in the center of Križišće – Turn right towards Crikvenica / Split
- After 300 m - Take the first right at the sign Kartodrom Bura
- After 50m - Take the first left at the Villa Suzi sign onto a short stretch of gravel track.
- Stay on the left, go through the gate and downhill to the parking

Coming from Senj / Novi Vinodolski / Crikvenica
- After Jadranovo, first turn right towards Križišće
- Stay on this road until after the sign indicating the end of Šmrika.
- Pay attention to the left side of the road, after a right turn you will see a sign saying Kartodrom Bura.
- Here you turn left
- After 50 m - turn left onto the gravel path when you can see the Villa Suzi sign.
- Stay left and drive through the gate downhill into the yard.

No. The interaction between children and donkeys walking around freely is very important to us. Bringing a dog could cause unwanted reactions. Thank you for your understanding!
Please wear sturdy shoes when visiting the farm. When it is very hot, use sunscreen and eventually use repellent sprays against insects.
Donkeys love apples and carrots, which you are welcome to bring along. Please don't feed anything else to the donkeys. We provide hay for feeding.
Yes. You can reach Oštro with a nice little sandy beach, within 5-10 minutes by car.
In case of bad weather, rain or strong wind, we cannot offer the donkey farm program. We recommend that you always check here on the website for up-to-date notifications on opening times before setting off. We also provide information on our Facebookand Instagram profiles about current opening hours and other news.
