A hike or a walk with a donkey is something very special for every participant. This is particularly interesting for everyone who wants to be active on their vacation in Croatia and would like to explore their holiday country and its breathtaking landscapes with an animal companion. Getting involved with the donkey, letting go, slowing down the pace and enjoying the beautiful surroundings, is simply good and fun.
The donkeys are particularly motivating for children and always ensure a good mood and adventure.
Our guided walks and hikes are carried out for the duration offered. The starting point is at the paddock unless otherwise stated.
The stated duration of the hike and walk includes the entire duration of the experience, an introduction to handling the donkeys, getting to know, brushing and haltering the animals, the tour as booked, as well as the cuddling time after returning to the paddock.
Walking with donkeys
Individual donkey walk only for your family or group
The donkey walk is ideal for couples, families with children and for active seniors. From the paddock, after the first meet and greet, we go along the pastures to a beautiful view point where we take a short break and have the opportunity to let the beauty of the Kvarner Bay impress us and to take a few nice souvenir photos . Then we are walking back to the farm.

Hiking with donkeys
The donkey hike starts from our donkey paddock and leads along our pastures. It goes both on paved paths and over hill and dale through interesting karst areas.
With the fragrant wild herbs in the nose, we reach a wonderful vantage point near a small cave, which we visit depending on the weather. We take a short break at the lookout point to enjoy the picnic we brought with us. Our long-ears have a well-deserved opportunity to graze here.
From here we have a wonderful panoramic sea view over the Kvarner Bay and towards the Vinodol (wine valley).
Then it goes downhill back towards the farm. When we arrive at the paddock, our dear companions get fresh water and something to eat and maybe there is still some time to cuddle and take photos.
The hike is not strenuous and is suitable for younger children who manage to walk the distance of about 2.5 km. Also suitable for younger family members. The optional rental of a riding saddle makes this tour even more exciting for children and also offers the opportunity to rest their tired feet while riding in between.
Note: If a participant books our three-wheeled carriage for one of the hiking dates, the tour route is as described below for the hike with carriage.

The three-wheeled carriage for a special experience
The donkey hike with our off-road three-wheeled carriage is a very special highlight and is only available from us in Croatia. This special carriage made in France allows participants with limited mobility to travel off-road. Armrests and a three-point seat belt ensure a comfortable and safe journey.
The carriage pulled by a donkey is fun for the whole family, including grandma and grandpa with their grandchildren. 2 adults or 1 adult and 2 children can be seated in the carriage. A family member leads the donkey, one at the back is the captain, who is in control of the ride and the brakes.
This enables families with children but also seniors, whose mobility is restricted, to immerse themselves in the beautiful nature and experience it up close, even away from paved paths.
The tour with the carriage
The donkey hike starts from our donkey paddock and leads along our pastures. It goes both on paved paths and over hill and dale through interesting karst areas.
There we take a short break, eat the picnic we brought with us and also give our donkeys a break to graze. We have a wonderful panoramic sea view over the Kvarner Bay and towards Rijeka.
After returning to the paddock, there is still time for souvenir photos, time to feed and give the animals fresh water and for cuddling.
The hike is not strenuous and is suitable for small children who manage to walk the distance of about 2.5 km. A riding saddle can be booked.
